BILL AND BOB'S ART SHOW

Welcome...

My name is Danny and I am an alcoholic. Ok, got that over with... I have been a working artist my entire adult life. Thanks to the gift of sobriety I've had some incredible opportunities to be involved in all sorts of artistic endeavors. For five weeks starting in the last week of February to the end of March I was in San Jose working on a huge mural project for TikTok. While I was there I went to at least a dozen AA meetings. At one someone announced their 5th annual "People in Recovery" Art Show. I took a break and went to the show. Super fun! A couple dozen people with all types of art. Paintings, drawings, pottery, many types of sculpture, beadwork, jewelery, photography, macrame... I wasn't there long before I thought "This has to happen back home!" Well, here it is...we're doing it. I mean "WE'RE" doing it... This thing just started to be a thing (April 4th as I write this) so at the end of it I will be thanking a lot of people. I'll be updating this site as things develop. I will post the time and date as well as the location of the event when I know. First we need to find out who would like to participate and how many. As people sign up I would like to post your name and a bit about you as a bit of an introduction to each other. If anyone has a problem with this please let me know. If you aren't an artist but love art or love artists or just love the vibe of a bunch of cool people in recovery involved in a fun event send an email expressing a desire to volunteer. Things like this always go better with people helping out. All are welcome! When we have a date and place please share, not just with people in the rooms but anyone. Art has no boundaries. Thank you so much and I am so looking forward to meeting all of you... Danny

When you sign up, send a picture or two and what you would like to say about yourself and your art. We'll showcase you on the "Our artists" page .

  • Of course you can bring things to sell. That is generally the purpose of an art show.
  • Please note that you don't necessarily need to bring things to sell. Feel free to come and show your arts and crafts with others. (Am I overthinking this?)

Please visit the "Our Artists" on page 2 Click on "Our Artists" on the top of the page.

Logistics

As I had stated more information about the show will be coming. To prepare you for the show here is a few things you will need. #1 - Transportation to and from the show. You'll need this for #2 and #3 as well as your artwork. #2 - A table, easels, crates, boxes, whatever you might need to display your artwork. The venue we find might have tables but we can't count on it. #3 - A chair or two. If you have a problem with any of these reach out ahead of time and we can help.
And finally...something necessary to say: Point one - As facilitator of this event I hold no responsibility for unforeseen problems, incidents, accidents, theft and such. People don't always behave. Let's hope for the best. Point two - Overly sexual, racist or hateful artwork will not be allowed. If something is iffy send me a photograph so I can decide if it is appropriate. It'll be a pretty high bar but if you have to wonder it may not be acceptable, Thank you for your understanding.
